We are planning a weekend of exciting play at all levels with two beautiful fields, the best barbeque dinner in the Mid-Atlantic followed by dancing, and fabulous prizes provided by our wonderful sponsors.  More information coming in April.

 

Tournament Info, Hotels, and Directions

Tournament Rules

 

1. All horses must have a current Coggins, in accordance with MD statutes – No Exceptions.
2. APA approved Helmets (per the APA rulebook) and appropriate footwear must be worn at all times when mounted - No Exceptions.
3. We WILL NOT tolerate underage drinking in accordance with APA policies and MD laws.
4. Tournament committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
5. A complete entry includes a copy of current coggins and a signed release form. Please fax or email to the Arleen Strider. See on-line entry site for instructions.
6. Non-APA members may play but must pay the additional APA day membership fee of $20.00.
7. Entry fee includes dinner for players only. Additional dinners are available and must be paid for in advance. $20 for the most delicious (additional) dinner at a tournament!
8. One fantastic T-Shirt is included with each entry. Please specify size on the entry form. Additional T-Shirts are available for $15 and must be pre-ordered by May 29th. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed for late entries.
9. Please bring an umpire horse for your team so that play can continue without disruption. We appreciate your assistance!
10. Trash cans are provided for trash. Please dispose of trash properly in cans provided or in dumpsters.
11. Do not block any road or barn entrance with personal vehicles or trailers.
12. All pets must be on a leash or in a kennel at all times. Violators will pay a $50 fee to the Bat Area tournament fund.
13. Smoking in the stables/stable areas (within 25 feet) is not permitted.
14. Open fires are not permitted.
15. The grounds will officially open at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Jun 10th. The grounds will close at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16. If you plan to arrive early and/or depart late please notify Keri Lobas or Karen Gardiner in advance.
16. APA players with current ratings should provide their ratings on the entry form. Teams will be placed in a division based on total Team rating. If there are any questions about this the tournament committee will be available for discussion on a case-by-case basis. Decisions of the tournament committee with respect to assigning teams to divisions are final.

18. Upon departure stalls must be totally stripped. Hot pen areas need to be cleaned and hay needs to be removed.
19. All manure and old hay needs to be dumped in the manure receptacles around the barn. Please pick manure up from around your trailers as well. There is a $25 fee for every pile of manure left around the barn or trailer.
20. Each team must provide two volunteers for scoring, timing and goal-tending.

  • From the North: I-495 take exit 11 onto Rt. 4 South, follow to Prince Frederick, about 30 miles. Pass Wal-Mart on your right and, shortly after, turn right on Rt. 231 west. Drive approx 7 miles (you will cross the Benedict Bridge, Patuxent River) and Serenity Farm will be on your right.
  • From South: I-95N to exit 104 (VA-207, US-301to Carmel Church, Bowling Green). Continue North, VA-207 becomes US-301N. Turn right on Route 6 (Charles St in La Plata) to a left onto Rt. 488 (La Plata Road). Follow to end, turn right on Rt. 5 south. Take exit for 231E following signs (through roundabouts) for Prince Frederick. Go about 6 miles and Serenity Farm will be on your left (just before the bridge across the Patuxent River). This is the most direct route; however, there are several alternate routes. Please check the Google map link below and/or your GPS to determine the best route to take.
